Stability Analysis of Four Parallel-Operated DFIG-based Offshore Wind Farms Fed to a Large Power Grid Through a VSC-HVDC Link

چکیده

This paper presents the analyzed results of using a high-voltage directcurrent (HVDC) link based on voltage-source converter (VSC) to achieve damping improvement of four parallel-operated doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG)-based offshore wind farms (OWFs) fed to a large power grid. A frequency-domain scheme based on eigenvalue analysis is carried out and a time-domain method based on nonlinear model simulations is also performed to systematically demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme. It can be concluded from the simulation results that the proposed VSC-HVDC link can not only render adequate damping to the studied four OWFs under various operating conditions but also effectively mitigate inherent oscillations of the four OWFs under severe disturbance conditions.
